The World of Primordiax

Consisting of three known separate continents, Primordiax sports a varied climate that ranges from tropical to arctic conditions. The planet circles around a yellow sun and harbors three moons: Athene, Ortias, and Gemane.
Athene, the smallest of the three moons, actually circles closest to Primordiax, making it appear to be the same size as the others in the night sky.
Ortias' surface absorbs all colors except for maroon, which it reflects. Thus, the moon appears to be red on most clear nights, which has given it the nickname of "The Blood Moon".
Gemane tends to appear white with purple tinges most nights, and though it is the largest moon, it is the one furthest away from the planet. Gemane also sports a ragged red "scar" on its surface. Scholars are still in the process of trying to discover the source of that scarring, and many myths and stories have developed around that particular feature of Gemane.

Mitralon

Of the three major continents, Mitralon is the largest and spans the known northern hemisphere. The kingdom of Askagard, an immense walled city built by a coalition of races, rises from the Askakedja Mountain chain located in central Mitralon. The climate for this massive section of land can be described as temperate for the most part. The northern parts of Mitralon contain mostly tundra and semi-arctic conditions. Mitralon has more mineral-rich mountains and hills than any of the other continents, so those who wish to mine for minerals often find themselves exploring this continent first.

Besides the great city of Askagard, Mitralon is known for being home to the following rare animals: the mello penguin, the largest blue dragon to have ever been spotted, the extremely rare blooddart fish, and the giant beaver. Animal enthusiasts and hunters, though working at cross-purposes, often visit this continent in hopes of capturing some of these animals. The people of this continent tend to be sturdy, tough and hard-working. Most of the cultures and races found here tend toward a passionate lifestyle and one often based on survival. The harsh winters of Mitralon have developed some extremely industrious folk.

Ta'Raekhet

Desert sands and wind-scoured canyons dominate most of Ta'Raekhet's harsh landscape. This continent is quite water deficient, though the people who survive in the environment manage to find water whenever they need it. Chemer, the oldest known city in Primordiax, stands as the bastion of civilization in Ta'Raekhet. Its white walls provide shelter against the harsh rays of the desert sun as well as a place for people to gather and conduct business. The climate of this continent can be described as hot or hotter as there are only three seasons. In the spring, the rains fall in quick bursts for no more than a few weeks. At that time, the trickling streams fill their beds and become rushing rivers. Then comes a period of rapid growth and flourishing bounty. Soon after, the water disappears through evaporation or by going deep underground. Summer blazes for nine long months before giving way to two months of less hot but still scorching weather.

Ta'Raekhet is known for the following indigenous animals: camels, dryer fish, the sand spider, dune lizards, and the legendary stegadonks. In addition, the only saguaro desert in the world is located somewhere on this continent. The people who inhabit this continent are fierce survivors and have developed some extremely unique cultures centered around water and the sun. While the rest of the world may view the Ta'Raekhet inhabitants as cruel, they see themselves as practical.

Katayvan

Katayvan occupies the southeast corner of the known world map. Most of the continent is covered in jungles, swamps and bogs, and the climate could easily be described as semi-tropical to tropical. The seat of civilization on this landmass is located in the Kingdom of Troj, a black stone city built entirely by lekleks. Katayvan is well-known for its rainy season which comes after a very short, mild winter where it snows only on the highest peaks. The tropical storms known as payuut sweep through the continent causing many of the more established plants in the rainforest to fall every year. They also devastate humanoid establishments, which is why all the buildings in Troj have been built from stone. The payuuts are an extremely important ecological force. In knocking down some of the taller trees in the various rainforests, the storms allow for smaller plants to compete as well as create shelter for several of the ground-based creatures of the jungle.

The massive amount of biomass located on this continent allows for an extremely diverse ecosystem. Most of the rare plants and herbs needed for complex alchemy and healing can be found in Katayvan, and some of the rarest animals in the world, especially the great cats, can be found roaming through the jungles. Though the longest and toughest mountain ranges in the world are located on Mitralon, the highest mountain peak in Primordiax is located on Katayvan. It is known as Pokow Soong, which translates to "Mountain of Deadly Heights" in Maeish, the language of salamaes. The indigenous people of this landmass are often small, like the lekleks or the salamae, and quick. They also tend to be extremely resourceful, utilizing the bounty given to them by the surrounding jungle and wildlife. Cultures and people from Katayvan often act extremely cautious as well- of their surroundings and of people in general. The jungle is always full of surprises.

The Primordian Solar System

Everything below this point is player added

Stratos

The Sun

  • Diameter: Approximately 1,390,000 grans.

The Sun is by far the largest object in the Primordian solar system. It contains more than 99.8% of the total mass of the Solar System.

  • Estimated temperature: 4327 eks on the surface.

Named for the sun god, Stratos, the sun is the core of the Primordian solar system. It is typically yellow, unless Primordian atmospherics refract its light, such as is seen at sunrise and sunset. The outer layers of the Sun exhibit differential rotation: at the equator the surface rotates once every 5 days, marked by the rotation of a distinctive cluster of sunspots called 'Stratos' Eye'. Near the poles the rotation is as much as 16 days, but so variable as to be unplottable. This odd behavior is due to the fact that Stratos seems not to be a solid body like Primordiax. Similar effects are seen in the gas planets.

It would be fair to speculate that Stratos and the planetary system orbiting it are the first and most basic models of hihnometry, although it is unlikely that this was known when the first principles of the mathematical discipline were first observed and applied. Simply stated, the planetary orbits around Stratos generally obey the governing principle of the Hihn Sequence, as it was called by the trulloc cultures which first observed and then exploited it. Other cultures have expanded upon its basic tenets, calling the subsequent principles the "Divine Mean" or "Golden Ratio". For further details, see hihnometry.

Faeyora

First Planet

  • Diameter:

  • Orbit: 57,910,000 km from Stratos (convert)
  • Moons: Although the existence of at least one Faeyoran moon has been postulated and accepted by science and folklore for centuries, no irrefutable proof has to date been published. A small round shadow has been observed occasionally, crossing the surface of the planet, although it cannot be seen with the unaided eye.

Primordiax

Also called Mai'grom or "Mother Orb" in the trulloc language. Third Planet

  • Diameter/Circumference:
Equatorial Diameter: 46,230.05376 grans = 462.3 grandexes.
Polar Diameter: 50,221.73376 grans = 502.2 grandexes.
Equatorial Circumference: 157,776.2208 grans = 1,577.76 grandexes.
Polar Circumference: 157,511.81952 grans = 1,575.2 grandexes.

(The above values are differentiated as polar and equatorial due to the planet's non-spherical geoid shape.)

  • Revolution: 365 days/1 pass + leap year. (Completes an axial 'wobble' cycle every 4th year, creating a leap year.)
  • Rotation: 24 tolls/1 day
