Turdworm
Habitat:Temperate regions.
Description:Unfortunate is the fact that its name says it all, for while the colorful description of the turdworm's body can only be described as putridly fecal, its aroma and feeding habits bring it into constant close quarters with animal offal. Glossy and mucoid fibers cover the caterpillar's surface, to which feces and other dungheap debris will cling and harden, so at first glance they are easily mistaken for 'poop on the move'.
Notes:Not a true worm, this caterpillar is the larval stage of the Spotted Stratos Butterfly. It feeds on herbivore offal, avoiding carnivore leavings for some reason. Its chrysalis is usually built within livestock manure piles, and resembles an overlarge dried peach pit.
