This fist sized chunk of copper ore is flecked with impurities, but the
metallic pinkish-red tinge of the metal can still be seen quite clearly.
Streaks of shiny red smear over the darker, chipped areas of the ore, while
over the entire chunk itself, the color seems to have been misted on.

You mine copper by building a ragwood mine around the node you wish to exploit. You will need to know how to mine, first. As your skill increases you will waste less and complete the job much more efficiently. As with all of nature's resources, it is wise not to over exploit what exists.
